Welcome to Hypnosis 101

Over the past 5 years, I’ve dedicated myself to teaching people how to take back control of their lives. Over time, I realized although each person and their situations are unique, , many of the questions about Hypnosis and hypnotherapy have before hiring a hypnotist remain the same.

I’ve discovered that in order to make the right decision to get the help they need, the majority of people have to answer the same core group of questions. They are:

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes! Anyone who is willing and able to follow gentle directions to reach a state of focused awareness can experience the state of hypnosis.

Our clients often report a continued use of self-hypnosis long after their sessions for their continued success.

Will I be asleep?

No. Despite “Hypnos” being the greek root for sleep, hypnosis is not sleep. Hypnosis is actually a heightened state of awareness of what is important. You will be aware of your surroundings, and possibly the sounds nearby. Some people find that they may not remember every suggestion because they were so relaxed. This is perfectly normal and effective.

Will I lose control?

No. You are in complete control during hypnosis. Contrary to the common misconception, while in hypnosis you gain more control over yourself. This is what allows us to create amazing changes in hypnosis.

The hypnotist cannot make you do anything you wouldn’t normally want to do.

The hypnotist cannot make you reveal secrets.

We make it our office and protocols as comfortable as possible to help you create the change you desire.

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis is a state of mind, so it doesn’t actually feel like anything. You know when you have an “A-ha” moment?

Is Hypnosis Safe?

Yes – hypnosis is absolutely safe. Hypnosis is a natural ability of the mind that you’ve already experienced thousands of times. It is not mind control, manipulation, or magic. It’s a tool to allow you to use your mind to control your life. If you’ve ever grown, changed, or learned in any way, you’ve done so through hypnosis.

In fact, you go in and out of hypnosis many times a day, like when you are waking up, falling asleep, or daydreaming. Hypnosis even occurs when you’re completely immersed in an activity like reading a captivating book. You remain consciously aware and in full control.

The use of hypnosis has been recognized by the American Medical Association since 1958. It has been used for all sorts of issues from eliminating bad habits, helping children cure epileptic seizures, reducing or eliminating tinnitus, and many other conditions.

The only instances I recommend against it are while driving or operating machinery, so hypnosis audio products should not be listened to in those circumstances.

How long does it take?

Our programs are designed to create rapid change in just a few sessions.

While hypnosis is a process, most people experience benefits from the very first session.

Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes. In hypnosis, however, you will experience a distorted sense of time. You may feel as though you’ve been hypnotized for just several minutes, even though the hypnotic process is usually 30-45 minutes of our time together.

Our clients are scheduled for a brief series of sessions designed to provide you with the most effective hypnosis process in the most efficient use of your time. Our programs allow for an effective series of sessions with continued reinforcement, self-hypnosis training, and proper customization for your unique needs.
